Main Protection Functions:
The main protection functions are autonomous and can he indhadually enabled or disabled to suit a particular application. Each protecaon function is available in 4 separate setting Smogs which E. be individually enabled Or disabled. 3-Phase tripping vvith faulted phase indication is provided for all protection functions.

Discription:
The scheme consists of a centretapped resistor, a measuring relay, aplug setting bridge, an auxiliaryrelay and a rectifier bridge. Fordifferent battery voltages differentvalues of centre tapped resistors areused. For ratings above 250V astandard 250V relay is used with asuitable external resistor board.Variable sensitivities are provided bymeans of the tapped coil whose tapsare connected to the plug settingbridge. The centre tap of the resistoris brought to one of the terminals ofthe relay and this terminal is eitherdirectly earthed or earthed througha centre zero milliammeter.
The schematic diagram shown(Figure 1) gives the generalarrangement of the scheme. Underhealthy condition no current flowsthrough the measuring relay coil andin the event of an earth fault in anypole of the battery or a wiringinsulation failure, current flows through the measuring relay coil andrelay operates. The auxiliary relayoperates through the measuringrelay and initiates the alarm scheme.If a milliammeter is provided in thescheme its deflection also indicatesthe faulted pole of the battery.
